Jean-Claude Van Damme DENIES suffering heart attack on the set of his new film

Action movie legend Jean-Claude Van Damme has denied suffering a heart attack on the set of his new film.

The Muscles from Brussels posted the denial on his Facebook page this morning maintaining that he is '100% healthy.'

It had been reported that the 50-year-old star was hospitalised in New Orleans yesterday after suffering what was described as a 'minor heart attack.'.

'Hours ago, I read a rumor online about me suffering heart attack!!' he wrote on his personal page.

'Please, do not believe all what you read from rumors on any unofficial JCVD sites. Jean-Claude Van Damme is 100% healthy, training well for taking the fight and sending his fans & friends much love. — JCVD.'

It had been reported that the star was hospitalised after suffering the attack while shooting his latest film Weapon.

Production on the film had been taking place in Romania until last week when the cast and crew flew to New Orleans for three days of filming.

Shortly after arriving in the U.S. city, the entire shoot was put on hold due to 'complications' - which were initially rumoured to be the actor's heart attack.

Van Damme's wife and mother of two of his children, Gladys Portugues, joined him in New Orleans, according to reports.

Slated to be released next year, Weapon sees Van Damme play an assassin forced to work with a rival to bring down a drug cartel.

The Facebook post also saw Van Damme reassure fans that he would still be returning to the ring after a 27 year absence to fight Thai Boxer Somrak Khamsing later this year.
